The main objectives of the numerous activities at Emmer School are to create moments and spaces where children can experiment and develop their imagination, with the technical guidance of adults.
The teacher’s focus is on the creative process (not the finished product) and aims to put each child in a position to express themselves freely and develop their artistic sensitivity.
For a child, drawing is the complete expression of their feelings and emotions.A small line, a spot, or a flower without leaves can tell us a lot about their world.
The interpretation of color use is also significant because it can become a language through which we can better understand how the child relates to the world, how they perceive it, and how they would like it to be.
We have asked the children to work on a representative drawing each week, allowing them to express their emotional world and helping us to understand their discomforts, concerns, and problems that they are unable to express verbally.
The goal is to offer play experiences that start from the recognition of one's own body through the understanding of body schema.
With the younger group, we focus on experiences that involve processing and recognizing their own body schema, proprioception, and the acquisition of self-awareness.
With the older group, we create play experiences that encourage the children to perceive their body as a whole, as well as the parts that make it up.
The body schema journey aims to stimulate the process of acquiring body awareness and personal identity.
